Terms and Conditions for Business Participation in Madeira Tech School’s Digitalization Program

Madeira Tech School welcomes local businesses to our Digitalization Program, designed to support local companies by providing affordable digital solutions developed by our students. By participating in this program, businesses agree to abide by the following terms and conditions.


1. Program Overview

  • The Digitalization Program is part of Madeira Tech School’s initiative to bridge the digital gap by providing business owners with a functional digital presence, such as websites and basic digital tools, at a reduced cost.
  • Projects are executed by students under the supervision of professional mentors, allowing participants to gain practical skills while delivering valuable products to businesses.

2. Eligibility and Application

  • Eligible Businesses: Only businesses that meet certain criteria, such as size, location, and project scope, are eligible to participate.
  • Application Process: Businesses must apply and may undergo a selection process based on their needs, alignment with program goals, and available resources.

3. Fee Structure and Payment Terms

  • Reduced Program Fee: A reduced cost is offered to eligible businesses, covering necessary software licenses, hosting, and technical support as part of the digitalization package.
  • Payment Terms: Businesses are required to pay an initial deposit to secure their spot, and purchase the required licenses and software necessary to create their products.
  • Refund Policy: Refunds may be issued only if the project is terminated early by Madeira Tech School due to unforeseen circumstances. Third Party tools and other payment in licenses are not refunded, but these items belong to the participant business.

4. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Madeira Tech School: Responsible for managing and guiding the student project teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Business Partner: Must actively participate, providing necessary information, feedback, and timely approvals throughout the project. The participants also need to provide times to review and meet with the assigned students to facilitate the process.
  • Project Scope: Project details will be agreed upon prior to the start, with any additional features or changes subject to review and approval by Madeira Tech School.
  • After Completion Requirements: The participant’s websites must include a backlink in the footer towards Madeira Tech School that include a mention that says “website created by Madeira Tech School Digitalization Program”, and the participant is required to provide a program review to Madeira Tech School about the program.

5. Project Ownership and Intellectual Property

  • Ownership Transfer: Upon successful project completion and final approval, ownership of the final product (e.g., website, content) is transferred to the business.
  • Use of Project for School Promotion: Madeira Tech School reserves the right to use project snapshots, statistics, and non-confidential information for promotional purposes.
  • After Program Updates and Requests: Once the website is delivered and approved the students are not required to provide further updates, but Madeira Tech School offer maintenance services on demand to give our students a source of income.

6. Privacy and Confidentiality

  • Data Privacy: Madeira Tech School adheres to applicable data protection laws and will not disclose any personal or sensitive business data without consent.
  • Confidentiality: Both parties agree to maintain the confidentiality of any proprietary information shared during the program.

7. Liability and Disclaimer

  • No Guarantee of Business Outcomes: While the program aims to deliver functional digital solutions, Madeira Tech School does not guarantee specific business outcomes, such as increased traffic or sales.
  • Limitation of Liability: Madeira Tech School is not liable for any direct or indirect loss or damage incurred by the business from participation in the program.

8. Termination and Withdrawal

  • Termination by Madeira Tech School: The School reserves the right to terminate a business’s participation in cases of non-cooperation, breach of terms, or failure to provide required materials.
  • Withdrawal by Business: If a business withdraws from the program after the project has commenced, they may still be liable for incurred costs or agreed fees. If the withdrawal affect the students program the participant may be liable to the cost of the course for the students in charge of their website, design, social media and content.

9. Amendments to Terms

  • Madeira Tech School may update these Terms and Conditions as required. Any updates will be communicated to participating businesses, and continued participation will indicate acceptance of new terms.
